Phyllidia coelestis is a common and widespread species of nudibranch similar in color to Phyllidia varicosa but has a Y-shape to the blue ridges and lacks a black line on the sole of the foot. It is found on the open reef slopes where it is frequently observed on walls in the open. It feeds on sponges to a depth of 65 feet.
